School-wide Positive Behaviour Support (SW-PBS)

School-wide Positive Behaviour Support (SW-PBS) is a whole school, evidence based framework that promotes positive behaviour across all grades in our school. This approach supports our desire to create and maintain an environment that is positive, calm and optimal for learning.

We recognise that learning about the appropriate behaviours to create positive school environments is a process which individuals progress through at different rates. SW-PBS supports this learning through explicit teaching about positive behaviours.

As part of this, we have developed an agreed set of behaviours in different areas around the school, such as in classrooms and out in the playground, as well as behaviours that apply wherever we are. These behaviours, like other forms of learning, are then explicitly taught to students and reinforced through our house token system, a tally of which is regularly provided to students at assembly for feedback.

Our matrix of the expected behaviours can be viewed here.
