A Message from the Principal

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the traditional Custodians of the Land on which we all live, work, and play, in particular the Wadawurrung People.

We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
Through 1000s of generations the stories and spirit of the Wadawurrung people has been written into this land and our waterways.

We remember the song lines, the oral maps sung by the people as they journeyed across their country singing it to life.

We remember the many Creation stories passed down and to this day observe and respect Bunjil protecting us as our children learn, play and grow on Wadawurrung Country.

Welcome to 2023 at Little River Primary School.

Every Day is Open Day at Little River Primary School. You are cordially invited to ring and arrange a mutually agreeable time to visit our beautiful educational facility.

This Year we are continuing to implement the KIDSMATTER Initiative with our work around the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support SW-PBS and Respectful Relationships.

The staff at Little River Primary School care about the whole child, and believes that happy, healthy and well-cared for children are most readily able to reach their learning potential.

Each student's wellbeing and learning is firmly at the centre of all decisions. We encourage children to be lifelong learners who value themselves, others and learning. We promote social responsibility, perseverance, resilience and independence in order to prepare our students for the 21st Century and an ever changing world.

At Little River Primary School we affirm the values of our society which promote the dignity of the individual, foster relationships based on integrity, and create a genuine concern for our planet and its people.

Values specific to Little River Primary School are:

  1. Respect - We value ourselves and others, use appropriate social manners and look after our own and others’ property and the school environment.
  2. Responsibility - We accept that we have the control over our actions and words.
  3. Understanding and Inclusion - We understand that all people are different. These differences are not right or wrong. If we work together as a team of people with all our differences and varied skills then we are a better and stronger community.
  4. High Expectations - We try our best in all that we say and do.

These values support our students to become positive citizens within their community.

The school greatly encourages and supports educational partnerships with parents and the broader community.

Kind Regards,

Gavin Neslon
