Little River Primary School aims to create enthusiastic and confident learners of mathematics, who have a positive attitude to their learning. Our children will discover that maths is useful and fun. Children’s learning is most effective when linked to real-life, first-hand experiences and through the use of concrete materials. Our classrooms are filled with a range of resources to meet the needs of the individual learner. Each lesson promotes engagement through the use of dice, playing cards, blocks, picture story books linked to mathematical concepts, technology and more. Staff work closely in ensuring that the needs of students in both intervention and extension are being met. They are continually developing their knowledge and understanding of the Mathematical Curriculum and how to best teach it.
